Hello, I’m Riley McLaren, and welcome to my website.
Here you’ll be able to see heaps of my past work, ranging from film, motion graphics, editing, 2D animation, 3D modelling and animation to even a spot of photography.
I’m currently in my 3rd and final year at Deakin studying Animation and Motion Capture. I’m very experienced in the pre-production, production and particularly post-production of films and animations. I have made many promotional videos and animations for Deakin University, The Song Room, the cycling teams Orica GreenEdge and Team Sky, and the secondary school Gippsland Grammar.
You can find me on Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.
My previous creative endeavours summed up in a minute long video.
Featuring: The Quarters, Lacuna, Renelophus and KOVO.
Capturing the electric live performance of Alárìíyá.
Editing together a promotional video for Meat Week, a new initiative in giving families access to local and ethically farmed meats.
A short video capturing the final stop on Kaleidoscope VR’s World Tour.
Helping The Song Room achieve their goal in giving every child the best possible start to their life.
Walking, tripping and recovering while talking about nonsense.
I’ve produced some short, one minute long videos for the Faculty of Health at Deakin University.
A film that isn’t out of this world.
In 2013, the year after I graduated, I got the chance to create Gippsland Grammar’s new Video Prospectus.
A title sequence for the love child of The Knick and House of Cards.
Sometimes things just get left behind.
Some habits die hard, but there isn’t a harder person out there than Vance Stone.
University has now finished for the year, and I’m a little exhausted.
My Sound, Light and Motion final film was about a guy who is just plain lazy.
DeakinTV held their first 72 hour film festival, called Filmly.
An exclusive look at the Vacuumphant doing his job on the factory floor.
A vacuum mixed with an elephant. Unusual way to start my 3D journey.
Early in 2014, Dan Jones (Twitter) came to with an new web series idea and needed some help with the graphics for it.
Elliot and I wanted to do something that’d be a challenge for both of us. Clones. A ridiculous amount of clones.
A drawing based on the feelings of leaving home.
No one is too cool to participate. No one.
The Class of 2012 in one insanely massive picture.
“What would you do if you had another chance?” New Watch was my VCE Media 3/4 project, and it received full marks.
Gun in one hand, muffin in the other. It’s time to raise some money.
